For landowners

What To Expect When We Come To Your Land

Each province and state sets its own rules for how land agents deal with landowners; in Alberta, that is the Land Agents Licensing Act. Wherever a licence is required, only a licensed land agent discusses terms with you. The rest of our team supports the file and does not negotiate.

A Licensed Land Agent

Landowner negotiations are carried out only by a land agent licensed wherever a licence is required.

Licence Shown Up Front

The agent tells you they are licensed and shows you their licence at the first opportunity after negotiations begin, and whenever you ask.

Time To Consider

In Alberta, you are given a completed copy of the proposed agreement, with the agent's name and business address on it, and 48 hours, excluding statutory holidays, to review it without pressure from the agent. You can give up that time only by signing the government's waiver form, sworn or affirmed before a commissioner for oaths.

A Copy Of What You Sign

A true copy of anything you sign is left with you.

Built On Major Lines And Pipelines

Acquired Land Management has worked with industry, landowners and stakeholders since 2006, for over 20 years. Its first project, in 2006, was a major pipeline for a joint venture between Burlington and Shell Canada. From 2010 to 2016 its team worked in consulting and acquisition on electric transmission lines across the province. Its work also included a major oil pipeline in the Grande Prairie area, oil and gas well acquisition projects with their associated pipelines, and private mineral negotiations.

Today the business operates as a division of MCA Construction Group Inc., the Calgary company Luke McLaren owns.
